About the East Bay Bujinkan Buyu

Welcome to the East Bay Bujinkan page! We are a small group of dedicated Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu practitioners training in the Oakland area. We meet weekly to practice Budo Taijutsu as taught by Soke Hatsumi Masaaki, and, more locally, we train weekly with our teachers at the San Francisco Buyu Center.

Our classes are designed for beginning students and working on the “basics.” We welcome visitors and long-time practitioners alike and look forward to meeting you.

Trevor Calvert, Shidoshi-ho ⁄ assistant instructor. Trevor is a yondan yudansha ⁄ 4th degree blackbelt. He has been regularly training in the Bujinkan for seven years, and goes to Japan annually to study. He is affiliated and trains weekly with Shihan Dale Seago in San Francisco.

Where to Meet Us

Currently in Oakland we train on Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Temescal Arts Center. Training fees are $25 per month.

Basics Seminar, Saturday February 9

We're having a basics seminar at the SF Buyu Center in San Francisco,--it's from 10:00 to 4:00. We'll be covering a lot of the core movements and principles inherent in out art, so it should be a good time for all.
